Hi Paul,
I guess this is historically, there maybe was a mapping back in version 1.8...
I don't know, since I started with version 3.
For version 3 I did all the Toontrack mappings and since I have don't have the Jamcussion expansion and a mapping from percussion to drums is not a mapping that can suite all/most situations, I did not make one...
So if I think, mapping the Kick and Snare to different articulations of the Cajon is cool, you could think that is just mad. And depending on the song you work on, you would be very right with that
I guess the easiest and best way to do percussion with Jamstix is to get the Jamcussion pack, since you get 3 percussionists and an extra module for just that. And I further guess, that the samples contained in there are at least equal in quality than the mentioned Toontrack EZX.
If you really need some extra sounds from the Toontrack EZX the easiest way would be to generate the MIDI data from Jamstix and feed that directly to Easydrummer with the EZX loaded, doing the mapping by moving the notes (if necessary).
Since we just got another free update from Rayzoon and I think that is a great service, I guess I will get the Jamcussion Expansion just to have a look at it. If a mapping make sense there, I'll do it...
