Varying velocity on Grooves turned into a Style

Post by dmw_75 »

Hello Folks,

I am late to the party here, but have enjoyed learning and using the software over the last couple of weeks.

I have a question for anyone with more experience than myself: I have created my own grooves and then turned them into a style. I then loaded that new style with a drummer. However, I find that when the brain composes new bars using my style, only the timing of the grove is variable, not the velocity (i.e. all notes have velocity of 100)? Any ideas why this would be, or what I can do to change this other than manually adjusting the velocity of each note?

Thanks in advance,
David

Brain Menu> Extract from other player>Stewart>Hat Dynamics. Adjust the "Power Vary", "Snare Vary" & "HiHat Vary" in the "Feel" section of the Brain controls.

Also, the 'Feel' processor in the brain will adjust actual playing velocity without changing the underlying note velocity so it will still read 100 even if it was played at 85.

Great hint, thanks as always a_zimuth.

Changing the emphasis of this post here ... I've not read this hint in the documentation, and I've not seen it in any official Rayzoon communication. How does a non-power user keep up with this kind of thing? It's kind of overwhelming ...

Hi Alexis,
There really is no substitute for just simply turning knobs to see what they do. There are so many possibilities I doubt there could ever be an "all encompassing" guide or manual.
