They use the same sounds and JS4 can be set to use the JS3 sound folder so that no disk space is wasted.

On a side note, even though the sounds are the same, the kits sound almost completely different since JS4 uses extensive processing via the new mixer to provide a more 'mix-ready' sound experience.
Does this mean it will be more heavier to use than js3, and library be double the size?
Good questions. Audio CPU usage in JS4 is actually NOT noticably higher than in JS3. The library does NOT double if you have JS3 and JS4 installed since JS4 can use the JS3 sound folder so its shared between the two.

As we get closer to a release, any hope for a Ringo-esque drummer in JS4?

Wy you not release it now ?. if not all features work doesnt matter for many i think. for me it is only important to have jamstix 4 to be able to to add second snare or 2. basedrum and the new EQ with mid freq setting. so can do better sounds and need not work with single outputs. and if the song builder and algorithm drummer currenlty not work, i can use jamstix 3 midi out only and use the input in jamstix 4.

EDIT: if the algo drummer not work in 4 you can deactivate the button, so noone can use it currently, to avoid that you questions about it. I think many like better EQ and maybe better effect settings

You're asking a serious dev to release a crippled version of the next major upgrade just to satisfy an impatient kid?

Grow up, boy.

impatience what a choke. jamstix 1 come 2005 jamstix 2 come 2008. jamstix 3 2010 and jamstix 4 is mai 2017 not here. hard to understand wy jamstix 4 need so much time. all jamstix versions have lots diffrent gui. if the large delay is the 3d rotate of drumkits, i do not need it. i think better release now and later add 3d drumkit support. i hope jamstix not end in perfection trap. what perfection trap is, can read in inet

I follow all posts in the Jamstix forum and find them to be 99% useful/informative. I always ignore the occasional inane comments such as the latest from acdc2000 however in support of Ralph I feel obliged to say that acdc2000 should be using the inspired power of Jamstix ( in whatever version) to make some music rather than whine about when the next version is going to appear.

Once the private beta team stops finding significant showstoppers, which they are still doing...thankfully.
Anxiously waiting...

can see that lots use jamstix only for rythm create and use other drum software for sound generation. so many see that the weak point is sound and effects in jamstix 3. i want not buy another drum software to have better sounds, so i wait all the years that jamstix get better sounds more effects

in other words, i only need an enhancement of the sound engine. and to enhance the soundengine in jamstix need not so many years. and so my idea is a jamstix 4 with better soundengine first release to avoid buy of other drum software

i also not happy that jamstix have not more drum kits in all the years get. maybe i should sell jamstix, instead of wait more years

some posts about my question. yes its really not so good to have new features. if need no features than jamstix 1 is enough and need never pay some dollars for new music software.

drum core 4 lite cost only 49$ have 1400 audio loops 800 midi loops, 13 drum kits, can load own drum samples, can layer sounds(2 basedrum or 2 snare for fatter sound) but i see not much audio demos from it how it sound and there is no demo.

The main focus of Jamstix has always been the composition of Human sounding drum tracks. There is nothing else that does that as convincingly as Jamstix IMO. If you want an extensive library of extremely detailed sounds, similar to SD2, you will never get that from Jamstix. That is not its main purpose and it already contains the ability to drive those other packages if that is what you need.
