Jamstix 4 Information

Not sure if it's just him doing the development, and whether this is his main gig. But even under the best of circumstances these things can take a while. I've done this for over 30 years, and sometimes implementations just don't go the way you anticipate and the timelines slip. And your real life (which involves family, friends, pets, home, etc.) can get in the way as well.

What I'm waiting for more than anything is the next generation of the editor and mapper. But for now my customized Reaper setup gets me by. I don't think JS is *that* buggy. I think I've had maybe one crash total since I got it. Or clumsy. Room for improvement, sure. But as far as responsiveness and support for the product, I don't think you get much better than Ralph. I think if you polled, most here would agree he's a prince among common men.

I'll stick with him for the same reason I use an Axe FX. I think small companies with innovative products and founders who genuinely care about their user base generally wind up in the right place at the end of the day.
Yep, this ^^^^!

Am I the only one having a feeling that JS4 never will come?
Probably not, so you won't be alone when you're proven wrong. Ralph and his crew have always come through before, and I know they will once again.

Can't wait to be proven wrong....hopefully before 2018....and as a "real" vsti with proper daw integration like any other plugin out there.

But...I still have my doubts.

If it takes until 2018, it takes until 2018. No biggie as JS3 does everything I need and more. I'm just saying that Ralph has always been true to his word as far as I can see so I have no worries regarding JS4. It happens when it happens.

I just hope we don't get inundated by JS4 and new expansions at.the same time.

Hey Slooky_,
What do you mean "all the fills in Jamstix are clicks"? Since this is off topic if you want to PM me or start a new topic, I'll see if I can help.

Cant hold out much longer.....looking to this thread since month (first vague announcement of "beta") and..................nothing, just.............nothing

I know Ralph is a kind and very helpful guy, support works without problems but I must say I just feel kind of ignored if this is not even worth just a few words evry few weeks how its goint, I am busy, something like that just at least to know he is fine and jamstix at least still exists.....

Have resisted evry black friday and christmas deal, sigh, now at vstbuz a new great one.....

Cause if I be honest all I really need is a jamstix 4.....

But......2017 ? 2018 ? Cant really follow this kind of none information, its not meant to criticisze but I just cant understand

:(

Just to get clear and not missunderstood: I dont need a WilliamK kind of 24 hour live stream out of the devellopment room but....maybe there is something inbetween that and nothing ?

Managing hopes and expectations is quite difficult in software development. It's even harder when you're a small company.
Don't you think Ralph would be happier and richer if it was released 6 months ago? Sure. But the software is not ready yet.

If he release it without proper testing it will be labelled as "rotten" or imagine any other bad quality. I don't think it's worth it just to "please" early adopters and adventure seekers. :)

If JS 3.6 is not working for you I would suggest you let your expectations down and shop for another solution frankly.

Warning: English isn't my first language, I'm supposed to be friendly writing this so bear with me, I'm a nice and comprehensive guy. I just want to give some kind of "reality-check".

JS4 will probably not solve all your needs and dreams about a perfect Intellignet drummer VST. Without being in the beta team I can presume only, but usually, 80% of a software, even if it's rewritten from scratch, will keep 90% of its functionality. Don't expect the holy grail. :)

Dali (in zen mode, even if I'm looking forward to JS4 !)

The issue I have is not with quality or timeliness. It is about communication with the customer base and transparency.
