What is the general status of Rayzoon?

Erm, wouldn't the lower finger generally be the bass drum, and the higher finger the snare?

Please note, if this will delay JS4 in any way, please ignore ;)

Historically, the snare sounds have all been laid out to the right of kick drum sounds, so as a keyboard player we expect to play a snare with our right hand/finger. Thus the higher key rather than the lower key would be more likely to be a snare.

I would imagine that when a feature like this gets rolled out that the first thing people would ask would be to make it user assignable.

It's very similar to a certain competitors "tap to find" feature and I hope it gets developed in Jamstix!!

Yes, it will be adjustable. As you said, many keyboarders play grooves with kick via the left hand/lower key while drummers like to play the snare on the left hand/lower key as they would on a kit.

Serious answer : The guys at http://reaper.fm/ !

And I have the whole Rayzoon package. And it makes me realized that I still haven't used the Flamenco Minipack... Hum. I'll be busy tonight. ;)

Sounds promising, Ralph. I have often thought about us users being able to find what we want in a database full of rhythmic grooves by playing or tapping a sample rhythmic feel in as a "query" with the result being some grooves close to the feel we already have in mind. Seems like this approach is targeted at exactly that.

I like the new feature. Kind of like if I was talking to a drummer and trying to describe more or less the groove I want and let him play it like a drummer..

As always can't wait for Jam Bassist in 2018

That's a fantastic idea. Anything that makes Jamstix more intuitive is winner with me.

I use Jamstix literally every day. It's miles ahead of the old way of programming drum loops by hand or sorting through pages and pages of MIDI patterns looking for one that fits the pulse I have in mind. But a lot of the tweak-ability of the current Jamstix is lost on me because I can't always predict what I will get when I twist the sliders and knobs. It can get in the way of getting a useable groove up and running quickly, which is the point of Jamstix.

If there is one aspect of Jamstix that could benefit the most from simplifying it is fills. Presets would be one way of doing it. It would also be helpful if the pocket and timing features of the underlying groove could apply to the fills and accents.
