Hey all,
Noob question here, but had a look and couldn't get much luck.
Is there a way to control power levels from the brain for individual parts?
I want a Vs with one bar quieter then next way more dynamic, but when adjusting it in the brain, it stays there for the song.
Is there a way to control it and save it per par?
Cheers guys,
Lars (NZ)

Hi,
You'll have to automate Jamstix "Power Level" parameter in your host to do that.

Here is a link to a zipped folder of an old video which surfaces occasionally from "Wolffman" where he shows how to "automate the power knob" from the host, in this case Reaper.
Disclaimer: Wolffman acknowledges this is the worst video ever made. I tried to fix it a bit by converting the original .avi to an .mp4, but the size is simply huge and I was never able to reduce this. All that said, the content is shows some neat workflow features.

That is what I feared.
This needs to be looked at for any updates or future releases.
Most songs have shifts in dynamic, I guess the other way around is to mix down by part, but that's not why we purchased the SW to start with.
Bit of a flaw in the app but loving it otherwise.

I really don't see a problem with using automation for the song power/dynamics....it's really simple actually IMHO.....Manic_Fare wrote:That is what I feared.

If you use markers for differnt parts of your songs, all you have to do is add a couple points to the envelope, & adjust accordingly....simple....

Oh just the smarter/harder work philosophy.minerman_1 wrote:I really don't see a problem with using automation for the song power/dynamics....it's really simple actually IMHO.....Manic_Fare wrote:That is what I feared.

Sounds like I will have to ride the Power knob through automation which is a little annoying.
I work in PT and this particular track I am working on has 2 bars lighter/ 2 bars heavier throughout the verse.

Just apples & oranges my friend!!!
The way I use automation & the power knob is:
Create the automation track
Find the markers where the dynamics change
Add 4 points at each marker
Adjust the envelope as needed
Of course, if there are fills/accents/whatever that need less/more, I have to "find" them in the timeline, & do the above there too, but [i:27e408e29d]for me[/i:27e408e29d], it's still pretty simple....
But, I'm sure you're way more advanced in the way you use JS, so this may be useless to you....
And, don't forget, this software is trying to mimic what a human would do, & while it's [u:27e408e29d]the best drum programming tool I've used[/u:27e408e29d], that's still hard to do, & make it sound convincing...but I think JS does a pretty good job myself...
Good luck!!!

Yeah I guess I over thought the process.
This will work
Really liking it so far, and made my track sound a lot more human.
Next step is to buy SS4 and see if I can successfully incorp it to PT 10.
Thanks for your input guys
Lars
