Jamstix 3.6.0 Final Release Candidate Available
Just checked beta 23 and my projects all appear to be loading song data. The bars seem to be re-drawing very well when switching between groove, accent, fill, and different parts of the song. I did not have to have Cubase rescan the plug-in though. I just ran the beta 23 installer right over top of the beta 22 install, being careful to choose the same file locations, and started up fine.
I can't find anything to complain about!

Moved up to Beta 23 this morning to keep the effort going, but I am keeping a copy of the Beta17 install as a backup, just in case, as I was able to complete a long overdue drum project with that version and it worked great.

This error locked up JS Beta 23. It still played but the GUI was frozen had to exit host.
. Not doing anything special, just adjusting a bar to have a crash at the end of song.
After restarting host, all is fine.
Do I need to send a file? if so where is it again?

Running 3.60 beta 23 in Presonus Studio One V2 (newest update).
Just to let you and others know, beta 22 in studio one did not load the song data either. Just updated to beta 23 and looks like it fixed it.
Might want to update the first page as maybe not everyone will scan to page 23, as I just saw it was for Cubase, and rolled the dice hoping it would fix studio one

I'm still using Beta 17, but would like to know more about the audio envelope follower in Audio Mate.
Have there been any significant changes to the audio jamming side?
Reason I ask is that it "feels" really different with this version.
It also seems to jump around a lot more if you feed it too much of a processed signal (ie: through Guitar Rig)
Is there a Best Practice way of setting up to use jamming?

Ralph - Beta 23 testing continues. One issue I noticed is that the Wizard has an issue when opening Quickstart songs in a sub-folder. The songs in the sub-folder are listed, but when you click on them it loads a different song.
To re-create:
- Save a song in a sub-folder under the Jamstix3/data/songs
- Open the Wizard and the song will be listed with the other Quickstart songs
- click on the song and it will incorrectly load the next song in the list
The workaround is to save all songs in the Quickstart folder, not a big deal, I just liked keeping my songs in their own folder.

Ralph – I noticed a couple of other issues in my testing of Beta 23 in tweaking Brain Elements with the loop function on.
Hits not redrawing correctly – when tweaking the Brain elements, some hits would be drawn correctly while others would be drawn in grey or not at all - although they would play fine. The workaround is to click on another bar and back again to see the correctly drawn hits.
Hits not composing correctly – when tweaking the Brain elements in the middle of the bar, sometimes the hits would generate correctly for the remainder of the bar but not for the beginning of the bar when it looped. To correct, I just hit the compose button and everything clears up after a complete cycle through.
To re-create these issues just put the loop function on and start tweaking Brain Elements and these issues should show themselves.
The testing continues...

For now, please use the 'Input Velocity Mapping' to smooth things out (i.e load 'Wide Sweet Spot. Jamstix 4 will have a better envelope follower and also feature separate attack/release control.sonicviz wrote:I'm still using Beta 17, but would like to know more about the audio envelope follower in Audio Mate.

aha, so I wasn't going nuts then?Ralph [RZ] wrote:For now, please use the 'Input Velocity Mapping' to smooth things out (i.e load 'Wide Sweet Spot. I tried the 'Wide Sweet Spot' but does not suite my dynamics style. After playing around some more it seems ok back to good old linear (I was using compressed for quite a while) with trim 100% and response at 80%. I use my guitar volume to also modulate the input for quiet passages, as I also have a custom envelope follower in bidule that drives my Bass instrument volume.
V4 is a bit of a way out for what is one of the core features of Jamstix thought isn't it? Jamming?
What would be a very cool addition to would be to allow audiomate/Jamstix to output midi CC from the envelope follower so you can use the same control data to synch multiple VSTi to the same dynamics as Jamstix is using.
Possible?
Also, from your reply here:

[OPTIONS - JAMMING]
All saved globally but I think there is a bug for the trim/response rate, which we'll look into.
This trim/response rate is still changing on a song basis [at least in beta 17 - can't test later ones atm as I'm using it for performing and beta 17 seems "ok"ish]
Would be super useful to get this fixed asap so input curve, trim, and response rate are GLOBAL settings and not changed on a song basis.
