How Can I? Double up two sounds

Post by Sheppol_A »

I'm working on a rock track and cannot get a kick sound I like.I have made one by doubling up a Tom-tom sound under a kick sound manually but don't want to have to do this all the way through.

Is there a way to get the kick and another sound to play on the same beat automatically.I tried changing the midi note of the 2nd sound to match the kick but that didn't work :(

You'd have to export to MIDI and double in the host.

Thanks for the reply. Not real option as I'm running an older PC and that would be too much CPU use. Thanks anyway.I'll find another way.

You could try triggering another sample from the kick. VST plugins are available to detect the original sound and output a MIDI note or play a sample directly.

This is often done for acoustic drums, where the acoustic snare and kick are not heard on the final track, because they've been replaced by samples.

This process would be simplified by sending the kick out of its own JS output channel.

If you've got enough grunt to run Jamstix, you can surely double a midi track!!

This is the way I have used before.I just wondered if there was a simpler way using Jamstix. Thanks for the reply.I can do it reasonably by copying parts into other parts within Jamstix.
