This is a worship song I wrote a long time ago, but just got around to recording. Used JS2 on the drums (no expansion packs). Would love some feedback, and not just on the drums.

A beautiful song. Nice use of panning, fairly good vocals, nice stylistic development. The overall mix is nicely balanced, but some of the piano hits sound very hard, perhaps more so than it might be fitting for a background instrument. The composition and arrangement stay interesting throughout. I don't feel qualified to comment on the lyrics.

My rating: 9 out of 10.

thanks! I appreciate the nice comments...

What did you think about the overall tone? I have a pretty bad frequency loss in one of my ears, and at least one of my friends thought it sounded 'tinny', but that might have just been what they listened on.

thanks again!

I find it a bit difficult to judge that on headphones (I don't have any decent speakers). If there is anything that I'm not perfectly happy with, it's the vocals. I'm not completely sure about this (I solve stuff like this by playing around with equalizers until I've found the aspect that needs changing), but I think it's a lack in mid frequencies. That's probably due to a combination of vocal technique and either an unsuitable microphone or overzealous EQ.

But the rest? Works for me... and not even that thing about the vocals is a big issue.

Yeah, not too much eq on the vocals, but I was stuck with a sm57 for instruments and a mid range ev mic for vocals.

Thanks again!!!
