Great sound, perfect mix, complex and unique harmonic development, awesome vocals...I really like this track! I know it's subjective but I wonder what it would sound like with the kick drum volume turned up more...

Hey thanks Ralph. I completely agree with you about the kick... I might have to ride the fader a bit on that one. There's times where it's just right, and then it's not... I'll see what I can do. It might not even need volume as much as it needs a little more 'punch'.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Great sound, perfect mix, complex and unique harmonic development, awesome vocals...I really like this track! Yes, maybe just EQ up the bottom-end.

I agree with Ralph- beautiful song. I do think the kick needs to come up a good bit more, not just on the bottom end, and the solo guitar could come down just a little bit.

I agree with both of you... Should be a pretty easy fix. I'll see if I can get it done tonight after the Bruins game of course. I'll let you know when I update the mix.

I would echo that it's a great song, but that the bottom end (bass and kick) should come up. Cut some bottom from the guitars to make room. And try to get more "air" into the rhythm guitars (like Andy Summers' Tele, if that makes sense). The guitar distortion is a bit too much "fuzz" rather than "crunch". So the crescendos (when the guitars are full-out, e.g. around 1:45) seem to make the whole track sound distorted. This might be an artifact of the MP3 conversion. In a couple of spots, the guitars fight the lead vocals (although that's fine at the end of the song). You could use a bit of EQ or vocal-side-chained compression on the guitars. This should also give the background vocals some room to soar.

Hey Mance - great songwriting and performances there. I've been listening to your other songs on Reverbnation - excellent stuff, respect.

I've been going through the tracks posted here and this has been my favorite so far. Thanks for the music!

Pretty good. Voice reminds me a little of later period Geddy Lee.
