And that's true of any instrument. Orchestral composers, for example, must study all instruments in the orchestra - not necessarily to play them, but to understand their ranges and abilities.

Another way is to alter the MIDI data before it goes into JS. For example, you could "compress" it (like you would to an audio signal) using tools like the ones from www.thepiz.org.

If you are just running the whole song in another time sig (e.g. entirely 3/4), there are probably several simpler hosts you could use. But if your song uses several time sigs, then you'll need to use a host with a timeline - so you would map out the arrangement in the host and match it in JS.

It's probably because Savihost only knows the 4/4 time signature. Maybe you could try using a more capable host, like Reaper perhaps?
