Hi.

Platform: Studio One 3 (Although, I'm guessing the solution may be similar with other platforms)

Just acquired JS 3 a month ago, or so, and have been trying to soak up as much as I can by way of videos, and such.

The main function I need is routing JS to EZDrummer... I cannot find anything that gives me details on how to do that...

I have read some of the posts regarding keymaps, and such, but I am not sure how, nor where, to apply them.

I feel like I am missing steps somewhere.


Such as:
- Do I have to instantiate EZDrummer on one track, and then..
- Instantiate Jamstix on a separate track, and then...
- Somehow map JS to the EZD track, or something...???


Could someone please assist with this?

I use Cubase and am not familiar with S1 but hopefully this will help.
Yes, you need to create an instance of both Jamstix and EZD.
Make sure the MIDI out is enabled in the Jamstix options.
I assume EZD has MIDI in enabled by default...
You need to route the MIDI out from Jamstix to the MIDI in in EZD.
You may be able to do that routing directly or you may have to use a "dummy" MIDI track and route the output of JS to that track that pass that MIDI from that track to EZD. You may also need to turn on a "monitor" or "record arm" on the MIDI track.
Lastly, you need to make sure the MIDI note conventions correlate in both Jamstix and EZD. Probably the easiest way, initially, is to select a general midi drum kit in Jamstix and a general midi mapping to the drum kit in EZD.
