Timing Slider?

Hi,
I´m trying to understand what the "Timing Slider" does. If I understand correctly, It controls the overall timing of the song. But I just can´t hear any difference.
I choose a drummer like Mike with a "pocket feel" at zero, and also with the timing slider at zero. I let Mike play for a few bars, and then I "drag" the part into my host (cubase 7.5). BTW I´m using 3.6 beta 18. I double click on the midi and everything is on the beat, like it should be. I then "reset" the song, drag the timing slider all the way to the left, or right (doesn´t matter) and let Mike play for a few bars. I just can´t hear any difference. I drag the file to my host again, open the midi, and everything is dead center.
Have I misunderstood the function?

Hi Fuzz_face, is it possible that Cubase is auto-quantizing the inserted midi? Just a thought. Try playing Cubase' metronome while JS is playing and the difference should be very obvious what the slider is doing. You need something to reference the timing against.

Hi, thanks for your reply!
Nope, no auto-quantizing. Funny thing is that I can definitely hear the effect when playing against the "click" in cubase. But if I drag and drop the part into cubase and open the midi in the drum editor, its locked to the grid. But if I adjust the "pocket" or "timing vari" knobs under the "feel" meny, and drag´n drop the part into cubase. It´s not "quantized" so to speak.
I started to think that maybe the "timing slider" only had an effect when jamstix was playing, but did not change the actual part.

Is it possible that the "timing" is an adjustment made as Jamstix is playing the composition. In other words, the "timing" is not actually written in the bar editor but is only modified real time during playback? So when you drag and drop the MIDI, the timing information does not exist there.
I guess we need Ralph for this one.

Hi, jas-lan!
That´s what I´m thinking also. Yep, we need Ralph to jump in on this.
I´m just trying to understand every little bit of this incredible program.

Timing adjustments in the 'Feel' section of the brain are written to the MIDI events and will show up in the MIDI export. If you change them, make sure to replay the part or song so the changes are written to the MIDI buffers before exporting.

Timing changes from the song sheet are NOT written to the MIDI events. I remember we had a good reason for that but I can't remember it right now
The work-around is to adjust the start position of the MIDI clips in the host as needed.
