Can’t use 3/4 or 6/8 (standalone)

Using 2.5.0 as a standalone with Savihost, I can’t seem to create anything in 3/4 or 6/8 time by changing the time signatures in the arrangement window. The headers in the grid change but the program tries to give time to 16 “beat pieces” as in 4/4. The measures play okay in preview but break down when I try to simply run the song. I have “allow time sig changes” enabled. I’ve tried different styles, including 6/8 Rock and Jazz Waltz. I tried resetting the song and recomposing.

Any ideas?

It's probably because Savihost only knows the 4/4 time signature. Maybe you could try using a more capable host, like Reaper perhaps?

Thanks for the info, Greg - I didn't know that about Savihost. I'm a hardware guy so I wanted to use Jamstix as a standalone if I could. I was just too impressed with its capabilities not to buy it. I guess I'll have to do some homework to see what other software I might need to unlock all of JS's magic. In the meantime, I guess I'll work on some things that are strictly 4/4...

If you are just running the whole song in another time sig (e.g. entirely 3/4), there are probably several simpler hosts you could use. But if your song uses several time sigs, then you'll need to use a host with a timeline - so you would map out the arrangement in the host and match it in JS.

Again, thanks. I've downloaded an evaluation copy of Reaper and it solves the two Savihost problems that I posted here about - and things like ritardandos that I hadn't yet tried. I'll experiment a little more but I should probably just go ahead and buy it.
