WaveForm has... problems... with too many plugs. You may want to try the 8.2.7 release to see if that helps.
You can also post in the thread here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=22

"Please stop host before creating a new song structure" but host is NOT running. I have tried several times, start/stop host, just wont work.

Strange, I'm not seeing this at all. J4 is working without issue in W8 so far. My settings in J and W are pretty much default, could it be a setting in J or W that is causing this?

This IS really strange. I have tried now for a while and what is really strange that sometimes it does work, and then again it dont. And if it work it dont matters if host is running or not.
I had waveform 8.2.7 installed already (just forgot about it).
In the beta bug happened when I installed a waveform updated without running it evrytime as admin (just forgot that time while installing), but this one runs ad admin, I have given all rights to it just to be sure, so its no rights problem.
Does someone with waveform remembers: there is a point where you can specify the behaviour of waveform kind of if vst should be "on" if waveform is NOT running, that matters for some kontakt libs, had changed that but just could not find it anymore

(.
No other ideas. Right now it had worked for few times, changed nothing, then again it did not work anymore, always same warning message.

Richard, I've been messing about with different options in Waveform to try and replicate your error but whatever I do, I can't. I only get the said message when the host is running as would be expected, never when it is stopped. Sorry that you are having this issue, I have no ideas

Richard, you don't have the PREVIEW button in the bar editor active when trying to create the song, right?

I have found the settings I mentioned before now in waveform (its under options and you can choose if waveform should run audio engine when stopped) but that dont really stopped the problem in general.
But it mostly works now and I realized another problem (old j3 songparts used) mixing up with this one. And it seems there are lot of options maybe involved in the problem (like if the track is muted/soloed, playing cursor is in a part where j4 is running or not etc.).
For now I am happy that I was able to save to new song templates (one only with drums and one only with perc) and adapted them to my actual song.
Maybe using the ram/cpu near to the edge in the actual song might influence the occasional problem to. Will have to try a blank new project with it someday and then see whats happen. For now I am happy I can go on with the song, thanks to evrybody for replies and would be great if someone else has similiar problems to mention it.
I wont poste it in the waveform forum right now, I think they have other REAL problems and things to care about and just hold at the moment.

Recently upgraded to Jamstix 4. So far, it's looking good; enjoying the new visualisation.
But I do have one [b:dec7e68eae]issue with the bar editor[/b:dec7e68eae]: Double-clicking on an occupied cell does not delete the note as it used to, using Cubase Pro 8. The manual does state, however, that this should still work as it did in Jamstix 3. Ralph, perhaps you can look into this.
cheers!

We had a back and forth with that during testing. It can interfere with rapid cell editing so we changed it to the DEL button.

To me, using the bar editor has always been a mouse-only affair. Having to additionally use the keyboard only to delete hits seems like an inconvenience.
What do you mean by "rapid cell editing"? If it's just quickly adding hits, I don't understand the problem. It's worked fine in the past, and it also works fine in other such hit editors that I'm familiar with, e.g. Cubase's Drum Editor and NI Maschine.
If you really think that not being able to delete hits with a double-click is preferred by many, could the old behaviour perhaps be added as an option?
Depending on what you decide, you may need to update the manual, as it still states that double-clicking will remove notes.
