Please UN-check 'Stay-On-Top' in the Cubase frame around Jamstix to fix this.
Hi Ralph,
uh, that's not good, to be honest, it's extremely bad. It means that the project window in Cubase can not be maximized and as soon I click somewhere outside the Jamstix window it disappears behind the project window. Is it possible to bring the old behaviour back? If yes, please do it.
Greetings
Max

Reaper sort of crashes when I try to open the beta gui (I get the option to send to Microsoft). It does not crash completely but instead I get three sliders (rather than the JS gui) and I can quit gracefully.
Windows XP.
I am so looking forward to trying the JS1 stuff!

I'd like to try the beta. How do I download it? I wasn't aware that I had a personal download space.

Beta 11 is now out with a few improvements and fixes.
@zeph_yrus:
Beta 11 fixes the kit image confusion when using multiple instances. It also lets you skin the song menu icon as discussed.
@max.noise:
The problem is Cubase's unique active window management. It 'mishandles' the Jamstix GUI because it is attached to another process. I don't have a good work-around but did this in Beta 11: use Jamstix w/o stay-on-top and make the Cubase project window as large as you wish (but not maximized) and then triple-click the CTRL key to bring Jamstix in front of the project window whenever you need it.

Installed the beta 11 and now up and running (installed it to my other vstplugins folder so probably my fault for not using that one in the first place). Gui now loads.
Having all the JS1 grooves on call now is great. Thank you so much.

I would like to comment on the new features but I can't get past the GUI and Window Focus behavior. I am using Cubase 6.5.5 on two monitors. When I first open the plug-in editor it has "Always on Top" selected (which is what I want, so I can drag it out of the Cubase window). But then, when I click ANYWHERE in the Jamstix editor, Jamstix AND ALL OTHER "Always on Top" editor windows disappear. If I deselect "Always on Top", as advised, the editor is now BEHIND the Project Window or (if the editor was on the second monitor, outside of the Cubase window when "Always on Top" is selected) it is on the second monitor (outside of the Cubase window and cannot be moved. It can be moved in the case where it is in the Cubase Window behind the Project Window. The triple CTRL trick works when it is in the Cubase Window. When it is outside of the Cubase Window with "Always on Top" deselected, it might be ok if after editing on the GUI, I did not have to go BACK to the Cubase Window and click to get focus back to Cubase to get my mixer back visible (which was on the second monitor with Jamstix and has "Always on Top" selected). The mixer window DISAPPEARS vice just going to the back when the Jamstix GUI is selected. Lastly, when I close the GUI and reopen it, the "Always on Top" is selected again and the window location resets.
I also have no desire to see the Audio Plugin Server window. It is certainly not a problem, however.
Bottom line: I understand that there is something with the way Cubase handles the windows but all my other plugins (NI, BlueCat, Steinberg) behave nicely in "Always on Top" mode with multiple monitors. I can get the work done the way it is but it feels clunky and "cheap". Jamstix is, in my opinion, the BEST drum plug-in out there and my FAVORITE plug-in BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE! All my other plug-ins have something I can use instead but Jamstix is unique. Please don't resolve to call this a Cubase problem. I yearn for a free floating Jamstix GUI window that, when I select it, the other windows are still visible but just go behind AND when I select those windows again, Jamstix just goes behind but is still visible (the portion that is exposed, of course).
Sincerely,
Jaslan
