Post removed - issue sorted!

Out of interest. The little green/red tack at the top-right of the screen - what is that for?

Seen two issues recently. Forget the first one but the other is this:

- If I go to hit the save button and then close the jamstix VST prior to actually saving the file in the pop-up window, the whole program hangs and I have to kill Tracktion.

As an aside... I have a fill bar and want to change the timing but the timings seem to be "fixed" (wont respond to the timing control) - am I missing something?

The new Jamstix 4 Free version doesn't seem to work in the new Tracktion Waveform v9 beta. Or in the Tracktion Waveform version 8 non-beta release.

The window for Jamstix opens at the wrong size, and you can't click the message boxes that open, with an OK button either.

It's completely unusable in these recent versions of Tracktion

Do you have REAPER or any other DAW on the same machine to verify that Jamstix 4 works fine in those on your system?

Hi Ralph,

Yes, the gui opens and works fine in Reaper on the same laptop.

I also have a full licensed version of Jamstix 4 (and earlier versions of Jamstix 3, and possibly before, I forget) which work on another laptop I have, in Tracktion, Waveform, and Reaper.

I'll try the free version on the other laptop when I get a chance. I put the free version on my "work" laptop, to use when I'm away with that one, and just found out the gui doesn't open. I could try the full version of Jamstix 4 on this, and see if it's any different....

(The full version of Jamstix I have on the other laptop is an older version, not 4.04, not yet. I haven't updated it for a few weeks, i've not been doing much music since before christmas)

Okay, I've tested the full licensed version of Jamstix, v4.04, on this laptop now, and the gui issue is the same in Tracktion 7, Waveform 8 and Waveform 9.

It works in Reaper.

I am unable to resize the Jamstix gui window, to display the whole gui, in Waveform/Tracktion. However, earlier (beta) versions of Jamstix, did work in these versions of Tracktion/Waveform.

So this seems to have broken, in the recent versions of Jamstix, from what I can tell ... I have no way to reinstall an older version of Jamstix, on this laptop, to prove this (at least, I don't know a way to do that). Happy to try, if earlier versions can be provided?

Thanks

Please open the JS4 manager, click 'Troubleshooting', check the box 'Use APS Mode' and see if the problem is gone.

Hey Ralph, first impressions are that seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

Just for info, it didn't fix it immediately. The first time I opened the gui for Jamstix, in Waveform, after selecting that option, the gui still opened in an unusual way, with a black bar along the left hand side, and some lettering behind it, but I closed the gui, and reopened it, and now looks fine

What does APS mode mean, out of curiosity?

Thanks again :)

Bit more information ... you have to run Waveform / Tracktion as administrator (right click the shortcut, run as administrator) for this fix to work.

If you don't, then toggling APS doesn't help. The problem still exists.
If you do, toggling APS doesn't work the first time you open the Jamstix gui, in Waveform, it will still open and display wrong, but after you close it, and reopen it, it will open in the right window size.
