JS4 (free) - suddenly gone quiet in Cubase 10... ?

Post by Sherz »

I haven't used JS for a while so I may have forgotten something obvious. I've suddenly lost output from JS4 (free) when playing back a song in Cubase 10. Was working fine initially.

I can hear sounds when I click on an element of the kit e.g. snare, kick etc but nothing when playing back and there's no meter indication in the JS mixer either. Also I usually send MIDI to SSD but there appears to be no MIDI out at all now. Any clues?

I had the same issue a few days ago. By starting Cubase again there was no solution. I turned off my PC and started again (no stand by, no hibernation) and problem was solved. I hope it helps.

Edit: the only difference is that I could not hear sounds by clicking on kit elements.

Sherz,

Use the Manager app to email Support and submit your log files. Include a description of the problem also.

Thanks or the responses. As it happens I've just got it going again.
Odd problem. I noticed the first part of the song had somehow gotten deleted. It was a 2-bar 'intro'. Now I would have thought the song would have still played without, it would have just been offset by two bars, but for some reason with this intro part absent it didn't play at all. As soon as I recreated the part all is back to normal. Makes no sense to me but anyway, problem solved!

Glad you got it going Sherz. Was there a time signature change involved perhaps? That will cause loss of sound if Jamstix & the host time sigs do not agree.

Well, as it happens the fault has happened again. Same thing... the first part of the song "intro" has vanished. But this time it plays a couple of bars and then goes silent. If this quirk persists I'll definitely send through the log files!
