when private beta come ?. i notice a problem in reaper with pace protectet vsti in demo mode. 3.6.5 when jamstix is add and later vsti that show the requester to choose continue or register or quit, the requester of the paxe protectet vsti hang. can test with airmusic or sonivox trail versions. also in cubase 8 the the gui of jamstix go in background after a click. maybe 4 work better ?

It'll get here when it gets here. As a developer I'm aware that these things can take a while. You can't anticipate every possibility and sometimes you have to go back and rethink something that seemed really cut and dried when you spec'd it out. So I get the silence - if you're really heads down ignoring the chatter can be the best thing sometimes.

Would admit to being curious about the beta though, and whether it will be a signup or an invitation based on ??? And whether it will cover Win *and* OSX concurrently. I've got both so if there was a gap it wouldn't be that big a deal. But I do have a few things to try it out on that I've put off for a bit because I thought this might be available soon.

OTOH, up to this point the upgrade has cost me a grand total of $0 so it's not like I've got anything to bitch about :D

hi Ray,
Jamstix 3 is a great virtual drummer
I'm (of course) waiting for being a Jamstix 4 updater-customer, but, in the meanwhile, I'm an happy user of JX3, exploring yet it's many options.
So, don't worry for the release time and take the right time for getting the best result.
I write only for one raccomandation: please, take care for dynamics tools, because they are essentials in constructing realistic drum tracks, expecially if you use Jamstix with externals plugs (I use BFD3).
JX 3 just has, right now, very good tools that allow you to find the right curve for every piece of drumset, just with a little patience.
In particular, working with the "dynamic design curve" (for every articulation) could be not easy at first time, but, when you get the right key, you can achieve great results.
I think JS 4 will improove that.
Thanks for your great job.

We were told "definitely this year" and I don't think that post implies this year for beta, but the actual release.

Considering it should have been in development since at least Dec 2014 (where it was offered as a free future upgrade for Jamstix3 purchases). A couple years development seems reasonable.

Am I the only one having a feeling that JS4 never will come?
We keep hearing the same old "almost there" and have seen some mediocre 3D drumset layout which absolutely doesn't add any value to the plugin.
No updates for almost 2 yrs !!!...which would be no problem if the product was flawless....but its still very buggy and clumpsy to use.
I bet/hope that some bigger company soon will release a similar and superior product, because the idea behind JS is really good :)

He's building a cross platform application that will contain significant enhancements to both the user interface and underpinnings. Not sure if it's just him doing the development, and whether this is his main gig. But even under the best of circumstances these things can take a while. I've done this for over 30 years, and sometimes implementations just don't go the way you anticipate and the timelines slip. And your real life (which involves family, friends, pets, home, etc.) can get in the way as well.

What I'm waiting for more than anything is the next generation of the editor and mapper. But for now my customized Reaper setup gets me by. I don't think JS is *that* buggy. I think I've had maybe one crash total since I got it. Or clumsy. Room for improvement, sure. But as far as responsiveness and support for the product, I don't think you get much better than Ralph. I think if you polled, most here would agree he's a prince among common men.

I'll stick with him for the same reason I use an Axe FX. I think small companies with innovative products and founders who genuinely care about their user base generally wind up in the right place at the end of the day.
