Duly noted, thanks! Btw, Shift+click is already in use for multiple part selection.Tech_DAWg wrote:I've been testing beta 7 for a while and had some issues with the recomposing of parts or measures that seem to have been addressed with Beta 9 according to the list of changes from from Jamstix 3.5 Beta 7.
The spacebar is a nice addition especially but what I would really like is keyboard shortcuts for cutting, copying and pasting in the song sheet and bar editor windows.
The usual use of CTRL+X, CTRL+C, CTRL+V would be appreciated. Even better if we could create our own keyboard shortcuts for Jamstix various menu items.
I would also like the possibility of selecting multiple parts in the song sheet window with CTRL+click and SHIFT+click as is the norm with many windows software.
Although the text is clearer in 3.5 than in previous versions, some of it is still very small. It would be nice to be able to have a full screen interface especially when using two monitors. Contrary to most VSTis where you just load a sound and play it on your keyboard or other controller, working with Jamstix is more mouse and screen intensive.

Hi Ralph,
I just have a question. I looked through this thread and didn't see mention of it. I'd try for myself, but I am waiting on a 64-bit machine build right now, so I can't...
Anyway, does the 64-bit version subhost 32-bit third party vstis? Not a big deal if not because there is always the option to do the midi-send thing, but I prefer to subhost if possible.
Thanks!

Jamstix 3.5 (64-bit and other formats) does no longer subhost. Subhosting just gets too messy and complicated as we move from just VST32 to also supporting VST64, RTAS and soon OSX VST AU.

Hi Ralph,
I just bought a win x64 computer but then read about no sub-hosting in 3.5. So how does this work with the former sub-hosted programs? I use Reaper and Addictive / BFD2 / Studio drummer/ AB roads drums. Do I use the midi out only in JS 3.5 as someone suggested? Are there at least going to be mapping templates?
Thanks,
karkull

We will provide mapping templates in the kit window starting with Beta 10 in a few days. So it will be as easy as loading BFD2 etc. into the host, routing JS MIDI out to it and selecting the proper mapping template.

Hi Ralph,
That's great news about the upcoming mapping templates! Can't wait to try it out!

I knew about Shift+click for multiple parts but usually in Windows you use Shift+click to select the first and last items you want to select and it selects all the other ones between those two in the displayed list. Your Shift+click behaves like Ctrl+click in Windows. It should also be possible to select parts by dragging in the song window with the mouse like we do for hits in the bar editor.Ralph [RZ] wrote:Duly noted, thanks! Hi Ralph,
I noticed that you can still mouse-over the missing subhost setting button, and the help text even pops up (but, of course, you can't click it). Also, the Voices counter is not updating. Otherwise, the x64 version seems pretty well baked!
I managed to get most of the v3.3 silver skin converted by renaming the bmp's to png's, but a few things are still "off a bit". For example, some (not all) of the boxes that surround the knobs in the groove area are still orange. Can you give me some guidance on making all of them white please....some already are, btw.
Thanks in advance,
G
