OSX Logic pro: Jamstix editor window stays in foreground

Post by e_del »

Jamstix 4.4.3 beta3
Logic Pro X 10.4.8
OSX 10.14.6 Mojave
2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

A funny behaviour happens when I open the editor in Logic and then I recall Chrome browser, with an overlapping window.
Chrome browser window "sneaks" under part of the editor, but over the menus (and Logic, of course).
Or in other words, the editor part containing the controls stays in foreground, even when an overlapping Chrome windows appears...

I'm trying to attach a screenshot, but I cannot find how... I can send it via email, if necessary, just tell me at what address...

Yes, this happens because the JS4 GUI is owned by a process other than Logic and macOS still does not allow a window from one process to be a child of a window of another process like Windows has done for decades, even though flags to that effect are found in the macOS API reference. Only work-around we can do at this time is to float the window and reposition it all the time, which has side effects like this.
