What I need to accomplish is to generate a roll on a crash cymbal that extends over one bar, building in power and ending with a cymbal hit on the 1 of the next bar. How can I accomplis this with JS?
While researching this issue I thought I might as well find out how to do snare rolls. I placed a snare hit on a beat in the bar editor, did a lift click on that beat and chose "Add Snare Roll --> Quiet to Loud" from the menu. The only effect this had was to delete the snare hit I placed previously, leaving me with an empty bar. Without the hit placed previously, though, the option of adding snare rolls is greyed out. So, how do I add a snare roll? BTW, I did I search in the manual and turned up empty...
Thanks for the help, -- Chris.

Ok, I thought I'd try one more thing which actually turned out to solve the second question of my previous post: to add a snare roll you need to place TWO snare hits -- one where the roll starts and the second one where it is supposed to end. Then you select both of them, left click on the beat marker above the first one and choose "Add Snare Roll".
But the other question regarding cymbal roll still stands....

I don't know whether to be embarrassed or not, but I thought of one other thing to try for the cymbal roll and, lo and behold, it worked!
For posterity: to add a cymbal roll, first add a drum roll using the technique described in the previous post. Then select all drum hits in the bar editor and change their sound to the desired cymbal sound. That's it!
Thanks anyway and greetings from a happy camper, -- Chris.

The process is the same for all of the "Add a XXXXX" menu items. Place a hit where you want the roll or wash to [u:2a1116d0a0][b:2a1116d0a0]END[/b:2a1116d0a0][/u:2a1116d0a0] and then click the "Tick" above the Bar Edit window where you want the roll or wash to [u:2a1116d0a0][b:2a1116d0a0]START[/b:2a1116d0a0][/u:2a1116d0a0].

Yes, that works. So I got it almost correct.
However, I wonder why this doesn't work for Jamcussion, too. Say I want a conga roll. I haven't found a way to achieve this yet.
Thanks, -- Chris.
