Log files and revisions now written to \'My Documents"

Post by dffjunk »

Hi guys!

Hey, I really do not like having this latest update (i.e., version 2.5.0) now creating a new folder in "My Documents" folder. Is there some way I can change this path? For example, I would prefer to have these items saved inside my Jamstix2 subfolder in my VstPlugins folder.

FYI, I have Sonar 5 with XP2.

Thanks!

The main reason for this change is that most people install Jamstix to 'Program Files' and under Vista with UAC you can get strange results ranging from no write access to virtualized files. May I ask what the exact reason is for your aversion to the current location?

I hate to admit it, but most if what you've said in your response below makes no sense to me. 'guess that's because I am not that well versed in how an OS works.

The ""My Documents" folder on my computer is where I keep track of whatever I create or save as a result of what I do. It makes it easy for me me just to drag-n-drop back-up copies of my files over to other hard drives. Now, all of a sudden, I have software that is creating a new subfolder in this folder that I didn't ask for.

This is not the first time I've experienced this, and it will likely not be the last. I would just prefer being able to choose another location.

Please don't be offended by my request. I LOVE your product(s)!!! I just did not care for this new feature that popped up out of nowhere with your latest update.

No problem. I'll see what we can do about customizing the location.
