Does anyone have Jamstix working completely with VstHost or SaviHost? I am able to load Jamstix and it will play, but I have absolutely no control over start/stop/rewind. It appears the only thing you can do with VSTHost is stop the audio engine which resets Jamstix back to square one, but if you turn the audio engine back on, immediately starts playing and will not stop. I am able to control the tempo with VstHost's BPM, but how I can start/stop/rewind or even better yet how can I make Jamstix sync up with another sequencer?
Let's say I have another sequencer and it can send MTC and it can send midi sync clock and it can send midi start/stop/continue/rewind, etc.. How can I configure VstHost and Jamstix to be able to operate as a slave to the master sequencer?
There is a section in VstHost for configuring midi messages that need to be translated into VST commands. VstHost can derive BPM from the midi clock, supposedly. Ok check. How about MTC or location?
VstHost can listen for start/stop/rewind and translate those into the appropriate VST message that will stop the plugin, etc..but I can't seem to figure out what that translation would be. Did anyone else figure this out or does anyone know of a better host for hosting Jamstix as a standalone drumbox that will sync with another master sequencer that doesn't support VST plugins itself?

Jamstix with VSTHost?
I'm a very recent buyer so I can't speak with complete authority. But...
My recording system is hardware based (starting with a Fostex VF160-EX). I used Savihost to evaluate Jamstix as a standalone and had similar transport issues but bought JS anyway 'cause it's just so darn cool. Then I posted here to see if anyone could help with a couple of issues and it turns out those specific problems were not solvable with Savihost. Someone suggested I check out Reaper which I really didn't want to do.
But I did and now I'm going to buy it ($50) just to use as a front end for Jamstix. It solves my transport and meter issues and -- this sealed the deal -- it will chase MTC from the Fostex.

Jamstix with VSTHost?
It is really old thread but unfortunately I had to confirm that even in 2020 nothing is changed. I tried VSTHost with Jamstix4 yesterday and found exactly the same issue as described in previous posts

Good news from a_zimuth:

I had to go and download VSTHost again just to check because I couldn't remember. I don't think I ever found a way to use the Transport controls but I'm sure I didn't look too hard either.

Unfortunately it only will work in 4/4 signature.

Jamstix with VSTHost?
Could not get it functional in VSThost. So tried a new kid on the block - Nanohost from tune2.com. No go. But the Tune2 guys are looking into it to see if something can be tweaked. Will let you folks know if they find a solution. I think a standalone Jamstix would be sweet.

I've got it working with Cantabile. So far, anyway...
