OK, I've solved point 1.

The clue was that I couldn't hear drum sounds when the DAW was stopped. I remember I had this issue before. I needed to tick "Run Audio Engine When Stopped" Tracktion options. So annoying!

That leaves points 2 & 3.

The problem is that as soon as I hit the play button in the host... after that point (host now stopped) I can't select bars or anything in jamstix and it then gives me the message I said if I try to save. <br/>

In one song in particular (just lost two hours worth of work) if I try to save, it says to stop the host or unlock from it before saving. The host isn't playing, jamstix isn't muted ...

- If I go to hit the save button and then close the jamstix VST prior to actually saving the file in the pop-up window, the whole program hangs and I have to kill Tracktion. <br/>

Unfortunately I only have the one audio track that has been exported so I don't have the original tracks. I could maybe increase the bass in order to try and distinguish where the kick is.

I downloaded Jamstix 3.6.5 update and on the downloads page it tells me to "execute to update my application" but where do I execute? There is no symbol for this?

C:\jamstix3\bin\32

There is a jamstix3.d32 file there but Tracktion 6 isn't picking it up :s

The plugin has gone missing from the list.
I'm pointing to C:\jamstix3 but no luck.
Also get a message saying ReWire.dll isn't loading??

For the life of me I can't find where the jamstix dll is
