That was really painful ... inserting 6 bars in the middle
If you are recording, it really is simpler to transfer the MIDI data into your DAW and edit it there.

Jamstix 4 Information
<t>Great. The two most important improvements to me would be:<br/>
<br/>
1. More predictable and usable fills.<br/>
<br/>
2. Improved "pocket" behavior, so that setting the pocket ahead or behind the beat does not shift the entire bar (unless that's what you want), but instead affects the relative ...

How are you using fills?
<t>If you are using any swing factor in the main beat, the current version of Jamstix does not seem to apply this factor to the fills. If you want the fills to reflect the swing, you'll need to edit them manually. Simplest and best way to do this is to record the Jamstix MIDI output into your DAW ...

how to stop things being crossed out please?
<t>As for your cymbal crash, most likely what's causing it is the check boxes at the top of the fills window. Uncheck "begin fill with crash" and "end fill with crash" and it will probably go away. Those boxes seem to be checked by default. There is a way to uncheck them globally, in the song ...

What does "in the pocket mean" in JS?
<t>I'm going to start working more with the "import groove" feature. I used it somewhat when I was first becoming acquainted with Jamstix. I could probably get more out of it now that I'm more comfortably with the program and have found a workflow that's effective for what I do.<br/>

<t>Thanks, interesting.<br/>

That children's song you linked sounds to me like there is an underlying eighth note shuffle feel. It's subtle because the hats and kicks are on the quarter notes for the most part. So you don't hear that constant da da-da da-da da-da eighth note pattern that tells ...

Suggestion for JS4: Pocket
I haven't experimented to learn how the "humanize" function might affect the behavior of the pocket function.
Thanks, I'll do that.
